Dear Harmony Preschool Families,
I hope you are enjoying your summer and this letter finds you and your family well and safe during these uncertain times of the Covid-19 pandemic. The staff and board members here at Harmony Preschool have had numerous discussions about the health and safety of our families and teachers. So, it is with a heavy heart that I am writing to inform you that we have made the difficult decision to keep our preschool facility closed for the entire first semester of the 2020/21 school year.
We have been closely following the ever-changing advice and guidance of public health authorities, and because we are committed to the safety and well-being of our staff and students, the time has come for us to take this step. I understand that this will have a big impact in planning for your daily routine this fall, so we wanted to make the decision early enough that families had ample time to make other preschool learning arrangements should you choose to do so.
In the meantime, to try and lessen the spread of Covid-19 we encourage parents and students to continue following the Center for Disease Control & Prevention promoted safeguards, such as washing hands with soap for at least 20 seconds; covering coughs and sneezes; wearing masks whenever possible in public; and avoiding others who are sick and staying home, if ill, among other suggestions.
We will continue to monitor any new developments and be in constant contact with our local health officials to reevaluate the Covid-19 situation later this year. I will keep you informed about any updates we might have when they become available.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding during these challenging times. Please feel free to contact me at the preschool’s email or by phone with any additional questions or concerns you and your family may have. Have a blessed day and stay safe!
