VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
TED CODY MEMORIAL FOOD PANTRY
Have you ever thought about donating some of your time to mission opportunities in our church but you just haven’t quite taken that next step? We may have just the right opportunity for you. Missions is looking for volunteers to assist with our Ted Cody Memorial Food Pantry. This is a great service to our community and takes very little time. It does not require Mission Committee membership or anything beyond simple food pantry assistance. What specifically is required?
- Monitor the food pantry’s usage about twice a week (more or less depending on usage) and restock as necessary. Food items for stocking the pantry are stored in our Missions cabinet.
- When the food supply gets low in our Missions cabinet, purchase food items with Church Walmart or Giant merchant cards. List of food items will be provided.
If this opportunity sparks interest, please contact Judy Fry (540-338-4714 or jfry2011@yahoo.com) or Roxanne Tipton (540-454-4654 or tipton04@aol.com). They will be happy to answer any questions and share more detailed information. We are hopeful of getting volunteers who are willing to assist on a monthly basis or longer, but because we would truly appreciate and are in need of assistance, we are flexible and willing to accept help for whatever timeframe anyone is able to donate their time.
With the many missions outreach opportunities the Missions Committee leads for our church, there are frequent opportunities for church members to offer their time and talents for helping.
God has gifted us to serve. We hope many of you will be prayerful in considering this opportunity requiring more heart than time. This one in particular is a great opportunity for children to be involved. It invites conversation about our community families who struggle for any variety of reasons and their need for help. It also allows them to provide hands on help with shopping/stocking. Missions genuinely thanks you for considering this opportunity.
